Obstetrics for Osteopaths

November 14, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Obstetrics for Osteopaths

We are delighted to announce Registered midwife and trained Birth Educator, Heather Turner, joins the Midland Osteopathic Society to deliver her first Obstetrics Workshop to Osteopaths.

Heather’s experience in her field shines through in the content of this course, especially adapted for manual practitioners.

Areas covered include positive language and communication for pre and post-natal patients, the effects of obstetric hormones on the body in pregnancy, labour and post-partum life. Heather details the physiological process of birth for mother and baby, and completes the day with a detailed overview of the post-partum pelvic floor, and rehabilitative strengthening techniques for the different areas of the pelvic floor.

This course is a must for anyone working with expectant and new mothers, and is a unique opportunity for Osteopaths to ask questions about the experience of new parents and midwives in the NHS.
