Osteopathic Development Group (ODG)

European Federation and Forum for Osteopathy (EFFO)

The EFFO promotes the standards, regulation and recognition for osteopaths in Europe. The organisation comes together to advance awareness and recognition of the role that osteopaths bring to the wellbeing and health of the general public. The Institute of Osteopathy is a member of the EFFO and provides secretariat services to the forum.

The Osteopathic Foundation

The Osteopathic Foundation is a registered charitable trust, operating under the stewardship of the iO set up to enhance osteopathic practice by funding education, research and by promoting productive relationships with the profession, for the benefit of the public. The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC)

The General Osteopathic Council regulates the practice of osteopathy in the United Kingdom. By law osteopaths must be registered with GOsC in order to practice.

The National Council for Osteopathic Research

NCOR is a research and development body that aims to foster and improve evidence based research, increase research capacity and tools within the osteopathic profession and to raise awareness of osteopathic research findings.

Osteopathic Alliance (OA)

The Osteopathic Alliance is the representative body for the UK’s independent post-registration osteopathic education providers. The Alliance represents the following member organisations, Osteopathic Centre for Children, The Institute of Classical Osteopathy, Molinari Institute of Health, Rollin E Becker Institute, The Association of Animal Osteopaths and Sunderland Cranial College of Osteopathy.

The Osteopathic Sports Care Association (OSCA)

OSCA is the UK’s only professional network of osteopaths in sport. They aim to promote osteopathy within a sports care environment and as part of a modern inter-disciplinary team.
