Chronic Pain: Cutting Edge research & Its Clinical Applications

Pain Science has changed our understanding of chronic pain significantly over the past 15 years, dispelling out-dated myths related to not only the cause of pain persisting but also commonly used treatments. Cutting edge research also demonstrates a powerful link between psychosocial factors, including stress and trauma, in the development of persistent pain. With the evolving evidence also demonstrating strong links between unresolved emotions, learned behaviours and personality traits with the development of chronic pain we are able to help clients identify and address the underlying causes as well as unlearn the neural circuits involved in their pain. This understanding allows us to offer our patients HOPE by focusing on RECOVERY, rather than just management, using an educational and self-empowering approach.
