New iO council members elected

Fiona Greer and Daniel Orchard were elected by the iO’s membership to the Council at the Annual General Meeting held on Friday 12 October.

Fiona qualified in 1997 and is the Director of Whole Child Therapy, an interdisciplinary paediatric clinic that provides community support, school services, training and research. She said, “I would love to encourage the members to take more control of the direction of the future of osteopathy. The vision and mission of the iO reflects in much of my daily practice. I have gained valuable and relevant experience in my current role and hope to share my experience to support the iO and its members.”

Daniel graduated in 2005 and is the director and trustee of the Centre for Osteopathic Research and Excellence, involved in research, mentoring, providing low-cost osteopathy to the community and promoting osteopathy to the public and healthcare providers. Daniel has said, “As an iO council member I feel I would be able to support the current incumbents with the experience I have gained in marketing osteopathy to the general public, approaching and liaising with the medical profession, educating osteopaths, and reviewing and undertaking research.”

The iO Council and executive would like to welcome Fiona and Daniel and look forward to working with them in our efforts to support and develop the profession.
