The Osteopathic Development Group’s Osteopathic Leadership Programme
Learning leadership skills can build your confidence to take on new challenges and roles to build your practice team, clinical practice, professional groups, education or research. The ODG’s leadership programme, delivered in collaboration with the Open University, will be running again in 2020.
About the programme
The Osteopathic Leadership Programme is a collaboration between The Open University (OU) and the ODG (a partnership between the leading organisations of the UK’s osteopathic profession) and offers the opportunity for those looking to develop their leadership skills or build their confidence in taking on a leadership role. The programme is aimed at any osteopath who wishes to apply leadership skills in clinical practice, a professional group, education or research.
The programme is built around a 25-hour OU distance learning leadership course and a supported work-based assignment, with the addition of two face-to-face workshops led by existing leaders working with the osteopathic profession.
The workshops will enable participants to identify their learning needs in the context of the osteopathic profession and to apply their learning in their future professional lives.
Details of the OU course which forms the core e-learning activity can be viewed here: ‘Developing your leadership style (BG005)’,
Who can apply?
The programme is open on a competitive basis to any GOsC-registered osteopath who can demonstrate that their participation will be of benefit in their current or future work, and to the wider UK osteopathic profession.
Fees and costs
The fee for participation in the programme is £295. This fee includes the cost of the two workshops and the e-learning course. Travel and any accommodation costs for the workshops are not included.
Timetable
The schedule for the programme will be confirmed when enough applications have been received. You must be able to attend both workshops as part of the programme.
