Guide issued on telephone and video consultations

With the current technology now available, telephone and video consultations can be a useful addition to the services and support that you provide your patients in managing their care.

These types of consultation are not intended to replace the face to face/hands on care that is fundamental to osteopathic practice and will not be suitable for all cases.

As highly trained healthcare professional we would expect you to apply your professional clinical judgement on how and when telephone and video consultation should be used to best support your patient’s care.

These types of consultations should be considered and conducted in the same manner as you would conduct your in-clinic consultations. Below is some guidance on how to conduct telephone and/or video consultations.
